Prevention and Treatment of Common Pests of Pear

Pygnet is a member of the order Homoptera, Meliaceae. The main damage is cherry blossoms, paste stems, azaleas and other flowers. Adults and nymphs are harmed by sucking on the back of the host leaves, and pale spots appear on the front of the damaged leaves. Faeces on the back of the leaves are dark spots like freckles due to insects. It is easy to identify. Damaged heavy leaves can easily fall off early.

Occurring in the north for 4-5 generations in one year, the adults overwinter in litter, branches and cracks, weeds, and soil and stone seams. The activities began in early April of the following year and flew to the host for food. Spawning occurs in the back of the leaf blade on the sides of the main vein. After mid-May, the instars appear at the same time and overlap for generations. The most serious damage was from July to August. After mid-to-late October, the adults search for wintering at overwintering sites. The newly hatched nymphs are not very active and have a clustered nature.

Control methods:
1. Remove dead branches, fallen leaves, and weeds in winter to eliminate overwintering adults.
2, planting the host place, the summer should shade, proper water spray, can reduce the damage.
3. In the early days of development, especially during the first generation of adults, spray 80% dichlorvos EC 1000 times, 40% Dimethoate 1000 times, 50% CASS Loose 1000 times or 50% phoxim EC 1000 times liquid.
