According to national standards, soybean meal is divided into three grades, grade one, grade two, and grade three. From the current situation of the domestic soybean meal spot market, the current total domestic soybean meal processing (excluding imported soybean meal) is approximately 10 million tons, of which grade 1 soybean meal accounts for about 20%, secondary soybean meal accounts for about 75%, and grade 3 soybean meal. About 5%, the changes in the flow of three grades of soybean meal are mainly related to the quality of soybeans. From the perspective of market demand for different grades of soybean meal, a large number of large-scale feed mills in China use grade one soybean meal. Most feed mills currently use secondary soybean meal (protein content 43%), and secondary soybean meal is still the domestic market for soybean meal consumption. Mainstream products, third-class soybean meal has been rarely used.

The pods are generally irregularly sharded, with a light yellow to light brown color and a roasted soybean flavor. The main components of soybean meal are: protein 40% to 48%, lysine 2.5% to 3.0%, tryptophan 0.6% to 0.7%, and methionine 0.5% to 0.7%.

Soybean meal is the most abundant and most versatile of the 12 animal and vegetable oilseed meal products such as cottonseed meal, peanut meal and rapeseed meal. As a kind of high protein, soybean meal is the main raw material for the production of livestock and poultry feed. Soybean meal is also used to make pet food. Simple mixed foods of corn and soybean meal have the same value as foods made from high animal protein.
