Penicillin treatment of livestock disease has two bogey

When a domestic animal has a disease (especially a disease caused by a bacterial infection), people often use penicillin as a treatment. However, during the use of penicillin, two aspects should be taken care of: one is to avoid use once; the other is to avoid using small doses.

Why is it hanged once? Because penicillin is an antibacterial drug, the diseases it treats are all pathogenic (bacterial) pathogens. It is impossible to remove all pathogenic microorganisms once and for all. Without repeated drug use, those pathogenic microorganisms that have escaped the net and newly propagated, due to the effects of drugs, often develop drug resistance, and the body that harms livestock is even more intense. Therefore, the use of penicillin for treatment of animals should be avoided once every 8 hours to 12 hours should be repeated medication.

Why avoid using small quantities? According to the study, after penicillin enters the bloodstream, part of it is adsorbed by tissues, and it can exhibit antibacterial effects more persistently in the tissues surrounding the infected bacteria, and the larger the dose, the greater the amount of adsorbed penicillin. Therefore, an appropriate increase in the dose can prolong the action time of penicillin, so penicillin should be used to treat animals with a small dose.

Is it better to treat the disease with penicillin? If this is done, it will be abused. Practice has shown that penicillin is best used to treat animals with the following doses: 40 million units to 80 million units per kilogram of body weight: pigs, sheep, cockroaches, calves and quails.
