The year of apiculture lies in autumn

In the autumn management of bee colonies, we often say that we are in the spring of one year, but it is autumn when it is a year for the beekeepers, because the autumn management work is directly related to whether bee colonies can safely pass through the winter. It is related to the development of bee colonies the following spring. Therefore, beekeepers often use autumn as the beginning of a year's beekeeping work. The main task of the autumn management is to replace the queen bee, cultivate a large number of overwintering bees, store overwinter feeds, prevent bee stings, prepare for winter bee colonies, and breed in early spring.

I. Early wintering reserve rations

After entering the autumn, the honey source in the outside world gradually decreases. The honey source required by honeybees from the autumn to the spring of the next year must be ready during the shed honey period. Every half a month has to be opened to check the consumption of honey.

September to November each year is the high incidence of bee poisoning. Because the honey source is reduced, the population of bees and grain reserves is relatively reduced, and the honeybees have high enthusiasm to go out to collect honey. When pesticides are used outside, they are likely to cause bee poisoning, resulting in a large number of bees.

Therefore, in the last major nectar period, honey spleen should be selected. Each group selects 4 to 5 nested spleen, no-male hives, and several generations of high-quality nests of bees are placed in the box to store the bees. Full of honey, caps. In the place where the powder source is abundant in autumn, leave 2 boxes of pollen spleen for each group. When honey spleen and pollen spleen are stored indoors, they must be fumigated by drugs to prevent destruction of the worms.

Second, to strengthen the cultivation of winter bees

Bees who participated in the collection and a large number of nurturing activities in the fall usually die before and during the winter. Therefore, it is particularly important to cultivate overwintering bees before the winter season.

Overwintering bees are selected for bees that have little or no larva rearing after they were born in the fall. Their various glands and fat bodies remain in development and can survive the winter season and are still able to nurture a group of larvae in the coming year.

One month before freezing, the queen bees should be spawned. If there is no opportunity for excretion flight, the young bees who leave the house late will not be safe in the winter and will affect the safe wintering of the bees.

Third, carefully choose the winter place

There is a large temperature difference between day and night in autumn. To prevent the nighttime temperature from being too low and affect the spawning, the insulation can be added on the sub cover and at the bottom of the nest box. The cover is best covered with dried grass. The nest doors should be properly reduced in the morning and evening, and enlarged at noon to Adjust the nest temperature.

Before the advent of winter, it is necessary to select the wintering place for bees and try to choose wintering in the larger areas around the foot of a mountain or a barren slope. At the same time, it is best to avoid multiple bees in winter at close range.

IV. Phase out queen bees

The old and bad bees have high winter mortality and fewer spring births. The new queen of the year was able to produce more eggs in the fall and start production in the spring of the following year. Therefore, we need to replace the two-age queen bee into the new queen of the year in the early autumn.

The bee queens that were eliminated can be reared on a small group of 2 to 4 box bees. When the queen bee stops spawning, the old queen bee is removed and the bees are merged into the weak bee colony. Bees that have been collected and nurtured during the fall usually die before or during the winter, so in the fall, the winter bees will be cultivated from late August to mid-September. These young bees basically did not participate in the collection and nurturing work. Their various glands maintained their initial state of development. It was still possible to nurture a group of larvae in the spring and then die. The method for breeding overwintering bees is to limit the queen bees to nest eggs in the nest in the early stage of the last honey bee. At the same time, adjust the hive, add empty spleen for spawning bees to lay eggs, honey and spleen and empty spleen will be gradually extracted in the middle and late stages of honey flow, so that the spleen and spleen will be equal, or the bee will be slightly more than the spleen. Merge small groups and weak groups. In general, keeping 5-6 boxes of bees can safely winter. Cultivating overwintering bees should ensure that the last batch of young bees are released from the house in mid-October. Feathered young larvae need to be excreted by flying. If they do not have enough time to excrete in the autumn after they leave the house, they will not be able to safely pass through the winter, and they will also affect the wintering of other bees. In addition, in order to feed a small amount of spleen, not only increase feed consumption, but also It affects the life of bees and the treatment of lice. Therefore, 25 days after the cultivation of overwintering bees, the queen of bees was placed in a prisoner's cage and prevented from spawning.

After the overwintering bees have been cultivated, when the overwinter feed reserves are insufficient, the feed should be fed within 10 days. At this time, the weather becomes cooler and the water evaporates slowly. The bee can be fed in a ratio of 3 parts of white sugar plus 1 part of water or 4 parts of honey plus 1 part of water. Note that feeding overwintering feeds should be timely. If honey is not matured at too late, the moisture content is too high, which can easily cause the bees to squat.

V. Prevent and cure bee stings at a proper time

In the autumn, 25 days after the Guan Wang break, all wintering bees have already left the house. The bee stings will live on the body of the bees. At this time, it is very effective to control the bee stings. In the autumn, the control of bee stings is based on the method of spraying. Sunny and windless weather is selected. Three days after the killing, 1 or 2 more times can be controlled according to the situation.
