It is especially suitable for the concentration and purification of biological products which are easily decomposed and degenerated by high temperature.

Third, the instrument installation
The RE201D rotary evaporator consists of a mechanical part, a glass part and a constant temperature water bath. Large modules form a box at the factory, and the installation is very convenient. The specific procedures are as follows:
1. Install the pressure gauge rod on the stainless steel pole.
2. Remove one nut from the lower end of the stainless steel frame, tighten the other nut on the stand, and insert it into the stainless steel base plate, then tighten with the removed nut and make the front of the pressure gauge facing the installer.
3. Place the rack on the workbench smoothly. If it is not flat, adjust the four hard rubber feet inside the bottom plate.
4. Move the center of the machine head to the height of 48Cm from the chassis and tilt it to the right by about 25 degrees to lock the locking screws on the frame.
5. Fix the electric control box as shown in the figure and insert the five-pin plug of the motor.
6. Fix the flange end of the four-way bottle on the machine head, and make the upper and lower mouth of the four-way bottle vertical.
7. Insert the condenser into the upper port of the four-way bottle, adjust each movable joint so that the condenser is vertical and hold with the fixed clamp. The condenser joints are backwards.
8. Insert the feeding switch into the four-way bottle, and connect the collecting bottle to the lower mouth of the four-way bottle. Clamp the bottle with the bottle mouth clip. Place the rotating bottle on the right end of the rotating shaft and clamp it with the bottle mouth.
9. Place the water bath under the rotating bottle and add clean water to the 2/3 pot (the tap water should be placed for 1-2 days).
10. Connect the vacuum tube joint with the vacuum tube at the suction pipe and the vacuum pump or laboratory vacuum switch for the other joint.
Precautions:
(1) Each glass piece should be cleaned before installation.
(2) Apply a small amount of vacuum grease to each standard port and sealing surface to increase air tightness.
(3) The position of the machine head must be locked when the installation is completed, and it cannot be moved.
Fourth, the method of use
The speed of the rotary evaporator depends on three:
1. The higher the degree of vacuum, the faster the speed, and the degree of vacuum when water evaporates should not be less than 0.096 MPa.
2, the higher the temperature of the water bath, the faster the speed, generally do not exceed 80 ° C, according to the process requirements.
3. The lower the cooling water temperature, the faster the speed and the better the cooling water.
(1) Operating procedures
1. Vacuuming, after opening the vacuum pump, it is found that the vacuum can not be checked. It is necessary to check whether the bottle mouth is well sealed, whether the vacuum pump itself leaks, whether the sealing ring at the rotating shaft is intact, and a vacuum switch connected in series with the external vacuum tube can finely adjust the optimal recovery. Rate and evaporation rate.
2. Feeding: Using the system vacuum negative pressure, the liquid material can be sucked into the rotating bottle with a hose on the feeding port. Do not exceed half of the rotating bottle. The instrument can be continuously fed. Pay attention to the feeding (1) turn off the vacuum pump, (2) stop heating, and (3) slowly open the feeding tube cock after the evaporation stops to prevent backflow.
3. Heating: The instrument is equipped with a specially designed lifting water bath. It must be energized after adding water. The temperature control scale 0-99 is for reference. Due to the existence of thermal inertia, the actual water temperature is about 2 degrees higher than the set temperature. The set value can be corrected when used. For example, if you need water temperature of 40 degrees, you can set the temperature controller to 38 degrees. Use precision water to measure directly. The rotating bottle invades 1/3-1/2 of the water. Use the connector to remove the power plug.
4. Rotation: Turn on the electric control box switch and adjust the rotation to the optimal evaporation speed. Take care to avoid fluctuations in the water bath vibration.
5. Turn on the cooling water.
6. Recycling solvent: Turn off the vacuum pump, open the feeding switch and deflate, and release the solvent in the collection bottle.
(2) Notes
1. About the degree of vacuum:
Vacuum degree is the most important process parameter of rotary evaporator, and users often encounter vacuum problems. This is often related to the nature of the solvent used. Biochemical and pharmaceutical industries often use water, ethanol, acetic acid, ethyl ether, petroleum ether, Chloroform, toluene, etc. are used as the solvent, and the general vacuum pump cannot resist the strong organic solvent, and the special vacuum pump with strong corrosion resistance can be selected. (It is recommended to use a water circulation vacuum pump, which is available from the company).
A simple method of checking whether the instrument leaks air—pinch off the external vacuum tube and observe the vacuum gauge on the instrument. Can it be kept for five minutes without falling. In the event of a leak, check that the seals on each seal joint and the rotating shaft are valid (see Maintenance). On the contrary, the instrument should be checked for vacuum pump and vacuum line.
2. About the temperature rise of the motor:
The instrument motor adopts E-class insulation, the winding adopts polyester high-strength enameled wire, the use environment, the altitude does not exceed 1000 meters, the ambient temperature does not exceed 40 °C, and the surface temperature rise of the motor is continuously used (the difference between the motor surface temperature and the ambient temperature does not exceed 45) °C is normal and can be used with confidence). For temperatures above 45 °C, check the drive lubrication system (see Maintenance). If the ambient temperature is high and the bath temperature is high, the user can use fan cooling.
Fifth, maintenance
1. The RE201D type adopts a composite sealing structure of polytetrafluoroethylene and fluorine rubber on the rotary seal. It has strong anti-corrosion performance and good vacuum. Users should not disassemble it when it is installed normally.
2, the sealing structure is at the left end of the rotating shaft, once a week, after scrubbing, apply a small amount of vacuum grease (recommended 7501 vacuum grease)
3, the special seal on the left end is a key component of air tightness. If it is found to be incompatible with the solvent (expansion, fat, etc.), it can be used with special special sealing ring such as acetone, ethyl acetate or chloroform.
4. If the rotating shaft does not rotate, use the spindle retaining pin in the accessory to insert into the small hole in the bottom of the mechanism to stop the small plastic cap on the spindle.
